We rescue horses who are suffering with hoof ailments due to neglect or incorrect hoofcare. And some come to us with behavioral issues that will often become a factor in hoof neglect. At times these behavioral issues mean the horse is forever unpredictable and unsafe. These horses don't deserve to lose their lives because of past treatment by humans that likely caused them to be a dangerous horse.
Some cases have become chronic lameness such as Patch's case of athritis caused by being started into reining training at a very young age. Very common, and very sad for the horses who are commonly washed up at an age when most horses are just beoming great trail riding partners. So these horses are not rehomable unless we can find the perfect home with someone looking just for a pasture pal for another horse and don't expect to be riding.
We don't yet have pages started or completed for all our rescue/rehab/recovery horses, donkeys and mules, as working on each page takes time away from caring for the actual equine, but we hope to have all pages and updates of current pages completed soon.
